festival ethos
The ethos of the festival is quite simple - FUN! Fun for players, parents, supporters, volunteers and even the referees! We have tried to create a fun, safe and pressure free environment that will allow the young boys and girls to develop their football skills.
The Salford Mini Soccer Festival has an ethos far removed from those of the numerous tournaments that are organised throughout the North West. The main differences are:
- There are no overall winners of the fetival, match results are not even recorded!
- Teams play in groups of five with a Fair Play Trophy up for grabs for each group.
- The referees play an integral part as they give the Fair Play marks for each team after every game.
- Every player is a winner as they will be presented with a medal on the festival stage.
- Every player will receive a goodie bag made up of gifts from partners and sponsors including The FA. Previous gifts in goodie bags have included gym bags, water bottles, FA wallets, footballs, yoyos, posters, wristbands, festival programme and frisbees, to name but a few!
