past events - 2007
In its second year at the Salford Sports Village, the festival accepted entries from a record breaking 220 teams from across the North West, all of whom descended upon Salford on the 9th and 10th June 2007.
To celebrate The FA Cup's return to Wembley Stadium and its presence at the festival, each team adopted the identity of a previous winner or a famous giant killer from the world's most famous cup competition. Thousands of children, friends and families had a weekend to remember as glorious sunshine beamed down on the budding football stars who competed for a coveted Fair Play Trophy.
Every child went home a winner, with a festival medal and fun-packed goodie bag including Umbro water bottles, a reusable gym bag, an FM radio, pens, stickers, sweets, wristbands and much more. Little brothers and sisters were also not disappointed as they had loads of fun with the fairground rides and inflatables.
In a post event questionnaire, 83% of those who took part in the festival described the event as 'excellent', whilst 17% rated it as 'good'. Of those questioned, no one rated the event as either 'fair' or 'poor'.
